Harrison Parole and Probation
Mississippi places community corrections within the Mississippi Department of Corrections, or MDOC. Its official supervision overview separates probation, parole, Earned Release Supervision, interstate compact cases, and the Intensive Supervision Program. Each status has a different legal source. A person may be outside prison yet remain under MDOC authority, so physical release does not always mean the sentence or supervision has ended.
Parole is conditional release before an MDOC sentence expires. The Mississippi State Parole Board makes a grant when the law calls for a discretionary parole decision. Probation comes from a judge as an alternative to incarceration or as part of a sentence. An MDOC agent then gives the conditions and monitors compliance. Neither label should be inferred from a vanished Harrison County jail entry.

Verify Harrison Post-Release Supervision
The public MDOC Parolee Search accepts a first name, last name, MDOC ID, city, or county. An ID is the safest key. If only a name is known, compare date of birth and other identity fields before treating a result as a match. The detail may show a photograph, County, Supervising Officer, and Flat Time Date. A flat-time date is a sentence calculation field, not proof that supervision has already ended.
- Collect the full legal name, date of birth, MDOC ID if known, and the most likely county or city.
- Search the parolee portal. Use the MDOC ID first, or search the surname and narrow the results with the given name.
- Compare the identity fields. Record the MDOC ID, County, Supervising Officer, and Flat Time Date exactly as displayed.
- Check the MDOC Inmate Search when parolee search has no match. An ERS unit can mean community placement under continuing jurisdiction.
- Use the named officer and county as routing clues. Contact the Gulfport or Biloxi office to ask which office holds the case.
- For probation, obtain the sentencing or later probation order from the responsible court because the parolee search is not a complete probation index.
A result establishes only what that MDOC system reports. No result does not prove discharge. Data timing, a spelling variation, interstate transfer, probation rather than parole, or another status may explain the gap. Harrison Supervision Has Two Offices
MDOC lists separate Harrison County reporting offices in Gulfport and Biloxi. A Harrison conviction or an old Adult Detention Center booking does not identify the right building. The parolee result's County and Supervising Officer fields are better clues. Call first because neither official office page publishes a universal walk-in schedule or a rule that assigns every county case to one location.

Harrison Supervision Changes and Warrants
Supervision conditions come from the court, Parole Board action, and MDOC case documents. They can address reporting, residence, travel, treatment, fees, or other case-specific duties. The public summary does not supply one universal set for every Harrison County person. A violation allegation may lead to a warrant, arrest, hearing, changed terms, or return to custody, but no result should be assumed before the responsible authority acts.
No current public statewide MDOC absconder list was verified. That gap matters. A missing parolee-search result cannot be turned into a claim that there is no warrant, while an old address cannot prove that someone absconded. Confirm a supervision warrant with the issuing court or law-enforcement agency. Confirm the supervision status with MDOC. Mississippi SAVIN may issue an absconding or return-to-custody event when the supplying agency updates its electronic file, but that notice is not the warrant itself.
Harrison Supervision and Final Discharge
Physical release, parole, ERS, and discharge mark different points. Parole and ERS keep the person under MDOC jurisdiction in the community. Probation continues until the court-defined term ends or a later order changes it. Full discharge should be shown by the agency time record, a discharge document, or the controlling court order. A live roster and a parolee page may not preserve that history forever.
MDOC directs offender-time, jail-credit, and eligibility-date questions to its Records Department at P.O. Box 24388, Jackson, MS 39225, 601-933-2889, and MDOCRecordsDepartment@mdoc.state.ms.us. Its Public Records Requests page requires a written request and says telephone requests are not accepted. Identify the person and MDOC ID, ask for the exact discharge or supervision record, prefer an electronic copy, and seek advance notice of any fee.
Parole eligibility also differs from release. The Mississippi State Parole Board determines parole where a discretionary decision is required. Research found no official public hearing calendar or searchable decisions database. For one case, contact the Board with the full name and MDOC ID and ask for the consideration status and any releasable action sheet. A grant can still be subject to an approved plan, residence, detainer, or other prerequisite.

Harrison Parole Board Records
Eligibility, a Board decision, physical release, and parole supervision are four separate facts. Miss. Code Ann. § 47-7-3 contains offense-specific and date-sensitive rules. In broad terms, current provisions use different thresholds for nonviolent offenses, crimes of violence, and certain named offenses. The statute has exclusions and amendments, so a percentage alone cannot settle one Harrison County case. MDOC's official summary is safer for a first read because it states that criminal history, the crime, its date, and the sentence affect eligibility. It also warns that eligibility does not guarantee parole.
The source sweep found no official public Mississippi parole-hearing calendar, current downloadable docket, or searchable decisions database. MDOC does say that an internal list of eligible offenders goes to the Board each month, but that is not a public hearing calendar. To check one person, contact the Board at 239 North Lamar Street, Suite 501, Jackson, MS 39201, 601-576-3520, or MSStateParoleBoard@mdoc.state.ms.us. Supply the full name and MDOC ID. Ask for the consideration date, whether review will occur by hearing or file, the disposition, and a releasable action sheet.
A grant should not be reported as an accomplished release. An acceptable residence, discharge plan, detainer, or another prerequisite may remain. Check the inmate and parolee records for the actual shift, then confirm the assigned Harrison office. A denial, deferral, or setoff is also not the same as a new maximum sentence. Use the Board record for the decision and MDOC for custody and supervision.
Mississippi SAVIN can add a time-sensitive layer. It may issue notices for release, transfer, absconding, and return to custody when the source agency updates its file. The notice does not replace the Board action, court warrant, or MDOC discharge record. Compare the exact event before drawing a conclusion about Harrison County parole and probation.
Interstate Compact supervision adds another routing issue. MDOC says an eligible person applies through the probation or parole agent, case manager, or releasing authority, and it identifies a $50 application fee. A Mississippi conviction therefore does not prove that the person now reports in Mississippi. Confirm an approved interstate move with the supervising authority before contacting either Harrison County office.
